Newcastle United Builds Squad, After Signing Kierran Trippier Now Eyeing Keylor Navas

JAKARTA - Newcastle United are rumored to be approaching Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Keylor Navas, RMC Sport reported on Monday.

The goalkeeper from Costa Rica currently has to compete with Gianluigi Donnarumma to guard the Paris club's goal.

The 35-year-old has made 97 appearances for PSG and has continued to play regularly this season, despite having to share a place with European Cup champion Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Newcastle have now 'made contact' with PSG to express their interest in signing Navas.

However, the Ligue 1 club want to keep Navas at least until the end of the season and 'close the door' in the January transfer window.

Navas' career peak came at Real Madrid, where he won three Champions League titles and one LaLiga title with the Spanish club before he signed for PSG in 2019.

Newcastle currently sit second-bottom of the English Premier League standings, only picking up 12 points from 20 games. They recently signed Kierran Trippier from Atletico Madrid and Chris Wood from Burnley.
