Depok City Government Cuts A Number of Aerial Cables on Margonda Street

JAKARTA - A number of aerial cables along Margonda Street, Beji District have been brought under control by the Depok City Government (Pemkot) through the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (DPUPR). Control is carried out by severing fiber optic cables belonging to a number of telecommunication cable operators.

Head of Construction Development Division, Depok City DPUPR, Denny Setiawan, said that previously his party had sent a notification letter to operators to control the cable independently. They are given a deadline of January 10, 2022.

“Today, we carried out an activity to sever the violating aerial cables, especially those on Jalan Raya Margonda. They have violated the provisions that have been notified through notification letter number 670/034-Bid.Binkon," said Denny on Margonda Street, Friday, January 14, quoted from the city government website.

He appealed to telecommunications cable operators to comply with the regulations set by the Depok City Government. Especially, regarding the aerial cables along Margonda Street.

"The operators should obey the rules that have been set. They should know that the cables are not installed like that, we have agreed, if they keep plugging it in we will break it," he said.
