Returning To Sorong, Ricky Kambuaya Gets A Trail Bike Prize For Good Performance At The 2020 AFF Cup

JAKARTA - The star of the Indonesian national team, Ricky Kambuaya recently returned to his hometown in Sorong, Papua. Ricky's return to the village is clear to let go of homesickness and meet his family after struggling to help the Garuda squad in the 2020 AFF Cup competition in Singapore.

In the moment of returning to the village, Ricky Kambuaya not only received a warm welcome from the residents but also a special gift. Upon arrival in Sorong, Persikos Sorong and the Chair of the Sorong City DPRD, Petronela Kambuaya gave a motorbike for the midfielder.

Not kidding, the prize given to Kambuaya is the latest Kawasaki KLX 150 BF trail bike. If you look at the latest prices, one unit of the trail bike is priced at around Rp35 million.

The gift by regional officials was apparently deliberately done as a form of appreciation and gratitude. Because Ricky Kambuaya became the actor who brought Indonesia to the top of the 2020 AFF Cup.

The 25-year-old player performed well by being the man of the match twice, namely against Cambodia in the opening match, and Thailand in the second leg of the final.

Receiving a gift when he arrived at his hometown, Ricky Kambuaya admitted that he was very happy. But not only that, he also said the gift would be put to good use.

"I will certainly use the motorbike as a gift and I will take good care of it," said Ricky in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, January 12.

Meanwhile, Petronela also feels grateful for Ricky's services in bringing regional identity to the Southeast Asian scene. For information, previously there were other Indonesian national team players from Sorong, namely Boaz Solossa and Ortizan Solossa.

"The Ayamaru tribe already has three outstanding youths, namely Ricky, Boaz Solossa, and Ortizan Solossa," said Petronela.

"My hope for the young people of Sorong City, stay away from drinking alcohol and do positive things, such as exercise," he continued.

After competing in the 2020 AFF Cup, the Indonesian national team must again prepare and try their best to face the next match. They have been waiting for the agenda of the FIFA Matchday against Bangladesh on January 24 and 27 in Bali.
