Jakarta Starts Booster Vaccinations, Residents Outside DKI Can Get One

JAKARTA - The third dose of COVID-19 vaccine or booster has started in DKI Jakarta. Today, the DKI Provincial Government held a kick off of the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination or booster at the Kramat Jati Health Center.

Head of the DKI Health Office, Widyastuti, said that booster vaccination is for Indonesian citizens aged 18 years and over and has been vaccinated in two doses since the previous 6 months.

However, for the time being booster vaccinations are still prioritized for the elderly and vulnerable groups. Registration for this vaccination can be made in the PeduliLindungi application.

"The location does not have to be in the same health facility as the location of the first and second doses of vaccine, it can be at another health facility by showing the third vaccine ticket or booster vaccine in the PeduliLindung application," Widyastuti told reporters, Wednesday, January 12.

Widyastuti said, gradually the ticket will be updated by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, so that people who have not issued a third vaccine ticket can wait for the data update.

In addition, the free booster vaccine service is open to people with DKI Jakarta ID cards (KTP) and those who are not DKI Jakarta residents.

"For residents outside of DKI Jakarta, there is no need to attach a domicile certificate when implementing the booster vaccine," said Widyastuti.

The government has established a booster vaccination using the heterologous method or a combination of different types of vaccines from the primary vaccine (first and second doses).

The combination of booster vaccines set by the Ministry of Health is as follows:

1. Sinovac dose 1 and 2 vaccines use a 1/2 dose (0.15cc) Pfizer booster vaccine

2. Sinovac 1 and 2 doses of vaccine using a 1/2 dose of AstraZeneca booster vaccine (0.25cc)

3. Vaccine doses 1 and 2 of Astrazeneca use a 1/2 dose of Moderna booster vaccine (0.25cc)
