Claiming To Be Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office Intel Staff, These 3 People Came To The Mukomuko Agriculture Service Asking For Rp300 Thousand

MUKOMUKO - Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mukomuko Police, the Bengkulu Police within an hour arrested three perpetrators suspected of making illegal levies (extortion) against Agriculture Service officials. In the action, the perpetrator claimed to be an intelligence staff of the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office.

AKP Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Teguh Ari Aji, who represents Mukomuko Police Chief AKBP Witdiardi, said that the illegal acts of the three perpetrators were carried out on Tuesday, January 4 at around 09.00 western Indonesia time. At around 10.00 western Indonesia time in Bandar Ratu Village, Mukomuko City District, the three were arrested.

"We arrested these three people, after receiving reports from the public regarding three people suspected of making illegal levies on local Agriculture Service officials," he explained.

Based on reports from the public, the three perpetrators admitted to being staff of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office. The three of them came using a Daihatsu BD 1586 CC car directly to the local Agriculture Service.

Investigators will conduct a further investigation by asking for information from officials at the Agriculture Service who are victims of illegal levies.

The evidence from extortion that was successfully secured by the police was cash amounting to Rp300 thousand which was put in an envelope.

Secretary of the Agriculture Office of Mukomuko Elxandi, said that initially, he received a call from the head of the service who was outside the area, contacted by a person claiming to be an intelligence staff of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office.

Then the head of the service directed the three individuals who claimed to be the intelligence staff of the Bengkulu High Court to meet the Secretary of the Agriculture Service.

The secretary of the Agriculture Service added that the three people came to ask for transportation costs because they were carrying out activities.
