PAN's Electability Is Only 1.8 Percent, Observers: The Real Threat Of The Ummah Party

JAKARTA - The results of a survey by the Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting institution put the electability of the Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) at only 1.8 percent. This became a red light for the party led by Zulkifli Hasan.

At least PAN must work hard so that its electability is at least 4 percent to remain in Senayan. Political communication observer at Esa Unggul University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, believes that the low electability of PAN indicates the threat of the Ummat Party is real. According to him, the party initiated by Amien Rais will undermine PAN's electability.

"As long as PAN continues to rely on the Muhammadiyah masses, it seems that it will be difficult for PAN to survive in Senayan. PAN will lose its competition with the Ummat Party because Zulkifli Hasan is considered less credible to Amien Rais in the eyes of the Muhammadiyah masses", said Jamiluddin in Jakarta, Thursday, December 30.

PAN, he continued, inevitably has to expand its market share if it wants to survive in Senayan. PAN, said Jamiluddin, must have the courage to enter the masses of NU and other mass organizations outside Muhammadiyah.

"In fact, PAN must have intensely penetrated the non-Muslim masses. For this, PAN's positioning must be changed to a more religious-nationalist direction. This needs to be done because the perception of most people so far is that PAN tends to be a religion-based party", he explained.

In addition, according to Jamiluddin, PAN should also attract the millennial market. Because this market share is very large, so it will affect PAN's vote acquisition in the 2024 Legislative Election.

"For this reason, the slogan of the PAN approach also needs to be adapted to millennials. The needs of millennials must inevitably become the main agenda that PAN is fighting for", said Jamiluddin.
