2021 Criminal Cases At The Sukabumi Police Drop By 29 Cases Compared To 2020

SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi Police claimed that the crime cases handled by their Criminal and Investigation Unit in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, were still dominated by theft and child protection even though overall the crime cases decreased throughout 2021 compared to 2020.

"The total number of criminal acts handled by the Satreskrim in 2020 is 362 cases, but in 2021 the number will be 333 cases or a decrease of 29 cases," said Sukabumi Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Dedy Darmawansyah, in Sukabumi, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 28.

According to him, of the 333 cases or criminal cases handled throughout 2021, 307 cases or 92.19 percent have been resolved. When compared to last year, the percentage of case settlements this year has increased, with details in 2020 from 362 criminal cases that were successfully resolved as many as 312 cases or 86.12 percent.

Thus, the remaining 26 cases have not been handled in 2021, which will be continued next year or 2022. Of the hundreds of crimes handled by the Sukabumi Police Criminal and Investigation Unit, cases of theft and child protection still dominate.

For details, there are 48 cases of theft with weighting, eight cases of violent theft, while 39 cases of motor vehicle theft have been completed and 11 cases have been resolved.

Then there are 33 criminal cases regarding child protection related to sexual abuse and 53 cases that are still in the process of being resolved. While there is one special crime or corruption case, his party has not been able to provide information regarding the alleged corruption case that occurred in his jurisdiction.

He continued, in addition to cases of theft, child protection, and alleged corruption, at the end of 2021 the Sukabumi Police succeeded in uncovering the land mafia case, which is currently still being investigated or examined by the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim by examining witnesses, one of which is an expert witness whose case will soon be raised to the highest level. investigation.

"Next year or 2022 we have prepared three corruption cases which are currently still in the investigation stage, so that next year we are targeting to enter the investigation stage," he said.

He emphasized that in handling criminal cases, both general and specific crimes that occurred in his jurisdiction, the police would not be selective and ensured that the case would be continued to court.

On the other hand, prevention of criminal cases requires cooperation from all parties, especially the community so that they do not hesitate to report if they see or know of criminal acts that at least occur in their respective regions.
