Dogecoin Creator Billy Markus Reveals He Only Has 220,000 DOGE
JAKARTA – One of the creators of Dogecoin (DOGE) Billy Markus recently revealed his DOGE coin holdings. Markus said his DOGE only amounted to around 220 thousand Dogecoins. That's the equivalent of 42,000 US dollars at current prices.
In addition, the Twitter account owner Shibetoshi Nakamoto also clarified his current role. He said he no longer discusses Dogecoin or works on the DOGE project anymore, but only as a member of the community. That's not to say he doesn't support Dogecoin.
“I will defend those who I feel are actively making the space better. I will discourage those I feel I don't."
Reporting from U.Today, Markus is said to be more relaxed towards DOGE and crypto, in contrast to the coin's co-creator, Jackson Palmer, who has repeatedly expressed disdain for Dogecoin and crypto.
In July, he said that the entire crypto space amplifies the worst aspects of capitalism, enriching wealthy personalities even further while allowing them to escape taxes unfairly.

The number of DOGE Billy Markus holdings does not indicate that he is among the richest Dogecoin owners. So Markus doesn't have the power to shake up the market with his sell-off.
In the end, Billy Markus tried to clear his leadership role from society, both in terms of influence and responsibility.
“I owe nothing to a single person in this space… I like nice people.”
Following a recent Twitter debate sparked by Block CEO Jack Dorsey, Markus added that he doesn't have big ambitions in the (crypto) space.
He does not believe that a “meaningful separation from the founding of the company” is possible, as many members of the crypto community tend to believe. Instead, he's just involved in "making stuff, making money, and having fun."
Moreover, Elon Musk echoes this opinion, saying he is pro-Doge for the same reason. The Tesla CEO has repeatedly mocked "Metaverse" and "Web 3.0" as just buzzwords, implying that they don't really exist and should not be taken seriously.
