How To Turn Off The Direct Messages Request Feature On An Instagram Account
YOGYAKARTA - The Direct Messages (DM) feature on Instagram social media can be used by users to interact with each other. In addition to sending and receiving messages with users who follow each other, the DM feature can also be used to send messages to users who do not follow each other.
For Instagram users who don't follow each other, Direct Messages can still be done. Later, the DM message sent by the account goes in the requested folder or message request in your Instagram DM menu.
However, if the user is bothered by new messages from unknown people or people who have not connected with you, the user can disable the Requested Messages folder in the user's Instagram DM.
This serves to avoid a lot of spam messages that enter your Instagram DMs, or other annoying messages from people you don't know.
If you want to disable the Requested Messages menu but are still confused about how to do it, you can follow the steps that the VOI team has compiled below.
How to Disable Direct Messages on Instagram
To disable the message request feature in Instagram DMs, you can first log into your Instagram account, then click the Profile menu in the lower right corner of your Instagram main page.
After that, select the "Menu" menu icon in the upper right corner of the user's Instagram Profile page. A list of menus will appear that you can choose from, click the "Settings" menu or Settings.
Next, you can select the "Privacy" menu, and select "Messages". Scroll to the bottom and click "Others on Instagram", in the Messages Controls menu.
In the "Don't Receive Request" column, the user can check the box icon next to the column.
After that, users can do the same on the People on Facebook menu. This is because Instagram and Facebook, which are under the same parent company, are integrated with each other so that Facebook users can interact with your Instagram account.
