NasDem Hopes Rais Aam Figure Can Embrace Everyone, There Will Be No Separation After The NU Congress

JAKARTA - On the second day of the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) congress in Lampung, there will be elections for Rais Aam and Tanfidziyah or the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board.

The chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Nasdem Party, Mohammad Haerul, hoped that the NU Congress would be successful and produce strong leadership. Whoever the chosen figure is, of course, is the best choice for NU.

The Deputy General Chair of the PP Youth Movement (GP) Ansor also hopes that the figure of Rais Aam and the elected Chairman of the PBNU can embrace the others. Because, he said, NU politics is state politics that embraces all political forces, based on pluralism, tolerance and respect for diversity.

"We want that after the congress there will be no more divisions. Everyone is united for the people and for a better Indonesia," said Haerul to reporters, Thursday, December 23.

To note, at the 34th NU Congress, there were three names for the candidates for the General Chair of PBNU. Among them are KH Prof Dr Said Aqil Siradj, KH Dr As'ad Said Ali, and KH Yahya Cholil Staquf.

The Secretary General of the DPP Garda Pemuda Nasdem assessed that the four figures included in the nomination for the candidate for the general chairmanship of PBNU were the best figures. Therefore, said Haerul, whoever is elected must be respected and obeyed by all parties.

"NU cadres who participate in the congress are expected to be able to deliberation and find solutions to various problems of the people and the nation," he said.

In the future, Haerul wants to establish synergy between NU and the NasDem Party. Because he said, NasDem can be a channel and liaison for NU's mission, which is clearly illustrated through programs, structures and platforms.

In fact, Haerul added, a number of NasDem Party programs were designed in line with and in line with NU's struggle.

"The Nasdem Party as one of the national forces is ideally suited to partner with NU, both in relation to national affairs, namely the people or the people, as well as international affairs, namely free and active politics for the realization of NU's great mission to establish Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin," he said.
