Prabowo's Leadership Ministry Devours Rp18 Trillion Budget To Buy Thousands Of Strategic Defense Tools
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani reported that the purchase of strategic defense instruments in the context of modernizing the main weapon system equipment (alutsista) reached Rp18.99 trillion in publications up to November 30, 2021.
"This amount is used to procure 8,412 units of defense equipment with a current progress of 84.2 percent," she said at a virtual press conference on our State Budget, Tuesday, December 21.
In her explanation, the Minister of Finance explained that the budget includes the purchase of types of floating equipment, Indonesian warships, Navy ships, combat and tactical vehicles, aircraft, missiles, and submarines.
"Capital expenditure growth at the Ministry of Defense grew moderately by 5.1 percent from the previous Rp24 trillion at the end of November 2020 to Rp25.2 trillion at the end of November 2021," she said.

Just so you know, the realization of capital expenditure from the ministry led by Prabowo Subianto is the second largest after the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) which amounted to Rp66.4 trillion.
Meanwhile, the government's total capital expenditures until last month reached Rp160.4 trillion, up 45.2 percent from the same period the previous year with Rp110.4 trillion.
