COVID-19 Update As Of December 21: 216 New Cases From Examination 314,186

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 314,186 specimens were examined with the result that there were 216 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,260,895 people and active cases are 4,829", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, December 21.

Today's recovered cases increased by 216 cases, bringing the total to 4,112,040 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 11 people and the total was 144,024 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 55 cases and a total of 864,737 cases. Followed by West Java with 35 new cases with a total of 708,665 cases. Central Java with 25 new cases and a total of 486,785 cases. Then, East Java with 14 new cases and a total of 399,914 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 59 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 23 recovered cases, East Nusa Tenggara with an additional 21 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 21 recovered cases.

There are 6 provinces that reported no new cases today, namely Jambi, Bengkulu, East Nusa Tenggara, North Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 60,784,337.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.10 percent", they wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,899 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 152,596,517 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 107,706,013 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was followed by 1,273,791 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
