Prediction Of TikTok Users In 2022 Becomes Other Social Media Concerns
JAKARTA - TikTok is claimed to be the third-largest social network in the world, behind Facebook and Instagram by 2022, according to data from Insider Intelligence.
The company, formerly known as eMarketer, uses TikTok's global application installation base. They predict that TikTok will reach 755 million monthly users by 2022, after seeing 59.8 percent growth in 2020, followed by 40.8 percent growth in 2021.
Meanwhile, Facebook, on its latest revenue report, reported 2.91 billion monthly active users after seeing a 6 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth. But Insider Intelligence predicts Facebook will reach 2.1 billion monthly users by 2022.
Not long ago, Instagram employees leaked they had surpassed 2 billion monthly users, up from the 1 billion monthly users reported in June 2018, and by 2022 it is predicted that Instagram will grow to 1.28 billion users.
However, Insider Intelligence has an estimate that draws on its own 2022 prediction, using a slightly different set of calculations. Insider Intelligence has its own definition of monthly active users which may differ from company to company analyzed.
For example, they only count users who log in at least once a month consistently over a period of years, and try to exclude fake accounts from their estimates. This is intended to provide clients with a more consistent apple to apple comparison across all platforms.

This growth puts apps like companies that have reached that milestone, including Tinder, Netflix, YouTube, and Tencent Video. While other companies have predicted TikTok's monthly active user base will reach 1 billion by 2021, Insider Intelligence's estimates are slightly more conservative due to its methodology.
