3 Reasons Vino Bastian Starred In Buya Hamka Film, First: He Is The One Who Converted My Mother To Islam
JAKARTA - Vino Bastian plays Buya Hamka. This is not the first time Vino has played a biopic character. Previously, Vino acted as Chrisye.
Initially, Vino felt burdened because Buya Hamka was a highly respected figure in Indonesia. However, he finally felt that the role was God's way for the following three reasons.
"When I was first offered to play the character Buya Hamka, I was shocked. Why was I chosen. But after meeting Buya Hamka's family, I took this. However, this is like the path given by Allah SWT," said Vino in a virtual press conference some time ago.
"My mother is a Muslim, and it was Buya Hamka who converted her to Islam, at the Al Azhar mosque near Blok M," said Vino, then explained the reason why he could not refuse Buya Hamka's role.
The father, Bastian Tito, was told that Vino had a relationship with Buya Hamka. "If you say it's close enough, maybe I'm not very clear. However, I also watched TV. At that time, Mr. Irfan said, Buya Hamka collected various books, one of which was by my father, Wiro Sableng. And Buya's books have become a collection for my father," said Vino.

Another reason is that Minang father's blood is the same as Buya Hamka's, which makes him even more called out. "My father happens to be Minang, the same as Buya Hamka. So I feel this is God's way," he explained.
Meanwhile, the director of the Buya Hamka film, Fajar Bustomi, revealed that Buya Hamka film would be shown in theaters. "Since the beginning of the concept of this film, it will be shown in theaters, and has not changed until now. I hope the book is a success, and can inspire many people, and later after the film is out, there will be a lot of viewers," he explained.
