The MUI Economic Congress Earns 9 Economic Jihad Resolution Points

JAKARTA - The implementation of the Second People's Economic Congress of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) was completed on Sunday and resulted in a nine-point resolution on economic jihad that can serve as a guide for the Ummah.

"This Ummah Economic Congress focuses on how Muslims in Indonesia, who make up the majority, can also have an optimal and maximum participation in the Indonesian economy," said Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Ummah Economic Congress, Lukmanul Hakim, when closing the Second Ummah Economic Congress which was attended in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, December 12.

Lukman detailed the nine jihad resolutions, namely the national production and expenditure movement, realizing Indonesia as the world's halal center, optimizing Ziswaf to drive the people's economy, presenting a Sharia national guarantee institution for ultra-micro and micro-enterprises that are easy, cheap, and safe.

Then accelerate the creation of regional superior business models that are run professionally, strengthen the partnership model between MSMEs with BUMN/BUMD and large businesses, encourage and oversee the creation of national/regional sharia economic system regulations.

Furthermore, encouraging the sharia economic ecosystem through digitalization and integration of commercial funds and Islamic social funds, and finally mandated the commission for the economic empowerment of the ummah to oversee the results of the ummah Economic Congress.

"We understand very well that difficulties, poverty, and poverty can lead to kufr or misguidance. This is our jihad, the ulema at MUI, people who care about the economy of Muslims so that they can get out of these difficult conditions," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary-General of MUI M. Azrul Tanjung said his party and other Islamic organizations have a commitment to revive the people's economy.

Azrul hopes that there will no longer be an assumption that Muslims are always below in terms of the economy and all should have the same opportunities. Through this congress, he said, it will become a guide in reviving the people's economy.

"The President is also committed to allocating 30 percent of credit for MSMEs and no less important is the President's commitment to make Indonesia the world's halal center," said Azrul.
