Retired Teacher's House In Karangpakis Cilacap Burns

JAKARTA – Saminah (65), a retired teacher in Cilacap Regency, laments sadly after the fire devoured her house in Karangpakis Hamlet RT06/02, Karangpakis Village, Nusawungu, Cilacap, Central Java.

According to witness testimony, namely the victim's neighbor, sparks were seen from the front of the victim's house due to electrical contact from the TV and refrigerator area inside Saminah's house, Tuesday, December 7, at around 00.30 western Indonesia time.

The witness then immediately broke down the door of the house because it was known that the owner of the house was a retired teacher who lived alone.

There were no casualties in the incident. According to the information received, Mrs. Saminah was staying at her daughter's house which was only a few meters away.

Residents tried to extinguish the fire at Saminah's house with makeshift equipment. However, because the door was locked, residents broke it down. Saminah's child, who was asleep at that time, was shocked to hear a commotion outside the house. After knowing her mother's house was on fire, she immediately screamed hysterically.

Resti, the head of the hamlet, immediately contacted members of the Nusawungu Police and the Kroya Cilacap fire department. Luckily the fire was extinguished without taking hours.

However, due to the semi-permanent building model, most of which are made of wood and roofed with asbestos, some of Saminah's items cannot be saved.
