Japek Toll Road Is Repaired, Jasa Marga Prepares A Contra Flow Scheme

JAKARTA - To anticipate congestion due to road repairs on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) has prepared a contraflow scheme.

General Manager Representative Office 1 Jasamarga Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division Muhammad Taufik Akbar conveyed that the contraflow preparation was carried out as an effort to break down vehicles if traffic conditions were heavy during work.

"We ensure that there will be no closures due to this work. The Jakarta-Cikampek toll road sections, both to Jakarta and to Cikampek, are still operating normally and we apply contra flow only during heavy traffic conditions," he said in Cikarang, Saturday.

To carry out this work plan, Taufik admitted that his party always coordinates with police officers from the Highway Patrol unit and PT Jasamarga Tollroad Operator to ensure smooth traffic conditions during the work.

Not only that, but his party has also prepared risk mitigation, including diverting the traffic flow that is affected before the work area and narrowing the work area in addition to preparing counter-trafficking schemes.

Please note, Jasa Marga plans to carry out road repair work using rigid pavement reconstruction techniques at Kilometer (KM) 34+039 to KM 34+688 or 227 meters long on lane 2 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Cikampek.

"The work is scheduled to start today (Saturday 4 December) at 19.00 western Indonesia time until Friday (10 December) at 12.00 western Indonesia time," he explained.

Taufik admitted that the road repair work is in order to improve the safety and comfort of road users as well as efforts to improve the company's minimum service standards.

Jasa Marga has socialized the work plan by installing outdoor media in the form of job warning banners and Variable Message Signs on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to Cikampek and Jakarta to ensure this information is well received by road users.

He apologized for the inconvenience caused by the work in question, while also urging road users to stay at home.

"If you are in an emergency, you have to leave your house so you can still comply with health protocols and travel requirements according to government regulations and be careful and obey signs, especially around the work location," he said.
