Garuda Indonesia Brings Good News: You Can Fly From Jakarta-Singapore Quarantine Free, What Are The Requirements?

JAKARTA - Passengers of the national airline Garuda Indonesia can now enjoy the Jakarta-Singapore travel service without quarantine upon arrival. This means that passengers can be free from the obligation of health quarantine.

President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra said the service only applies to passengers who already have a complete dose of COVID-19 vaccination and meet other requirements.

Furthermore, Irfan said Garuda Indonesia became the first airline in Indonesia to serve the Indonesia-Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights.

"Through the Vaccination Travel Route program, travelers from both countries who have met the criteria, in this case having received a complete dose of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with WHO recommendations and meeting other criteria, can travel between countries without having to quarantine upon arrival," he said in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, November 29.

Irfan explained that Garuda Indonesia would operate an aircraft with flight number GA 836 to serve the program. The flights will be served 6 times per week with a fleet of A330-300 aircraft.

Furthermore, Irfan said that the Vaccination Travel Path program has an important meaning and is in line with the acceleration of the COVID-19 vaccination program carried out by various countries. That way, the company can align its commitment to performance acceleration.

"Especially in a pandemic situation by always ensuring the fundamental aspects of travel needs in the era of normality, namely a sense of security and comfort which is realized through the consistent application of health protocols in all lines of operation," he said.

Not only that, said Irfan, the trust gained to support strategic initiatives that have important values in bilateral relations between countries is certainly a reflection of Garuda's active role commitment as a national flag carrier to always actively participate in supporting the government's mission in efforts to accelerate national economic recovery.

"Through this support, of course, we hope that we can also make a positive contribution in supporting the revival of the tourism sector through the readiness of air connectivity infrastructure," he said.

In line with the implementation of the Vaccination Travel Route policy which began to be implemented today, said Irfan, Garuda Indonesia also continues to strengthen the readiness of its main supporting operational aspects through the consistent implementation of health protocols on all flight service lines that continue to be optimized together with other airport stakeholders.

"We believe an important key in the successful implementation of the Vaccination Travel Path program is the focus on managing the implementation of health protocols that should be carried out end-to-end, supported by an adaptive flight service infrastructure in this new normal era," he said.

"Of course, with the support of stakeholders and the readiness of infrastructure that Indonesia and Singapore have, the implementation of the Vaccination Travel Path program is an important marker of a new era of aviation services during the pandemic," he continued.

Irfan also considered that the momentum for the implementation of the Vaccination Travel Path was a positive signal for the global aviation industry to continue to accelerate to maximize its performance recovery efforts.

"In line with the increasing number of countries that open entry access for foreign tourists, one of which is implemented through the Vaccination Travel Route cooperation, we believe this momentum will not only have a positive contribution to the recovery of airline performance, but also become a separate multiplier effect for the country's economic recovery. especially the tourism sector," he said.
