IDR 2.4 Billion Corruption, Ex Treasurer Of Public Health Center In Medan Sued 7.5 Years In Prison

MEDAN - The public prosecutor (JPU) has sued the former treasurer of the Glugur Darat Health Center, Medan, Esthi Wulandari with a sentence of 7.5 years in prison. Esthi is considered proven to be involved in corruption in the capitation fund for the National Health Insurance (JKN) amounting to IDR 2.4 billion.

In his memorandum of demand, Public Prosecutor Fauzan Irgi Hasibuan considered Esthi guilty of violating Article 2 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph I of the Corruption Eradication Law.

"The defendant is legally and convincingly guilty of committing an act of enriching himself and another person or a corporation that could harm the state's finances or the state's economy", said the prosecutor in a trial at the Medan District Court, Monday, November 29.

The prosecutor also demanded that the resident of Medan Tuntungan Sub-district pay a fine of IDR 300 million, a subsidiary of 6 months in prison.

In addition, the defendant was required to pay compensation for state losses amounting to IDR 2,452,344,204.

"With the provision that if within 1 year after the inkracht decision the defendant is unable to pay the replacement money, then his property is confiscated for auction. If it is still not sufficient, he will be sentenced to 4 years in prison", said the public prosecutor.

The aggravating thing is that the defendant is convoluted and dishonest. The defendant's actions also harmed the state's finances for IDR 2.4 billion.

"The mitigating thing is that the defendant is polite and has never been punished", said the public prosecutor.

Previously in the indictment, it was stated that the defendant as Treasurer of the JKN Capitation Fund gradually disbursed funds to the Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) FY 2019 to Bank Sumut, not by the facts.

The JKN Capitation Fund was managed by witness Rosita Nurjanah as the Head of the Glugur Darat Health Center and the JKN Capitation Fund Treasurer held by the defendant Esthi Wulandari.

The results of the audit showed that the cash for the Glugur Darat Health Center was short of more than IDR 2 billion at the same time as a state financial loss.
