For Deterrent Effect, Minister I Gusti Ayu Asks The Authorities To Take Severe Punishment For Perpetrators Of Violence Against Children
JAKARTA - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati asked the authorities to give severe punishment to perpetrators of violence against children to provide a deterrent effect.
"So far, cases of violence against children are very concerning. We want the perpetrators to be given the harshest punishment according to what he did so that there is a deterrent effect on the perpetrators. Then give justice to the victims," she said during a visit to Mulyojati Child-Friendly Park, Metro City, as reported by Antara, Sunday, November 28.
She appreciated law enforcement officers who moved quickly in resolving cases of violence against children and providing justice to victims.
"We appreciate the swift action of law enforcement to provide a deterrent effect to the perpetrators. This is what we must do to provide justice to the victims," she said.
According to her, cases of violence against children must be an alarm or warning to all parties to move and synergize together to provide the best in terms of prevention, treatment, and service to victims.
"We must provide the best in assistance and services to survivors, including handling, services, and justice for victims," she explained.

"As in Lampung Province, they are used to coordinating with related agencies, both submissions and direct assistance are mobilized, how do we collaborate for the best for survivors," she explained.
She added that the PPPA Ministry would act quickly if there were cases of violence against children in Indonesia.
"Inevitably, we are coordinating with the district/city PPPA Service and with law enforcement officers (APH). That is the first step we are taking," she added.
