Governor Anies made this decision after a meeting between the Co-founder of Formula E, Alberto Longo; President Director of PT Jakpro, Widi Amanasto; Chairman of IMI, Bambang Soesatyo; and Secretary-General of IMI, Ahmad Sahroni, Wednesday, November 24.
In the meeting, they discussed the development of the event organized by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through Jakpro. Governor Anies conveyed that the preparations for the international event to be held on June 4, 2022, were going well.
"We would like to convey that Alhamdulillah, the preparations for the implementation of Formula E on June 4, 2022, God willing, is going well. Just now with us, Alberto Longo, the leader of Formula E, Mr. Bambang Soesatyo, the chairman of IMI, Mr. Sahroni, the Secretary-General of IMI, and Mr. Widi, the Director of Jakpro," Governor Anies said in a written statement from the DKI Provincial Government Public Relations, Thursday, November 25.
Governor Anies also revealed that Formula E activities next year will adopt a collaboration scheme. So Jakpro will collaborate with IMI in organizing the event.
"So the Formula E activities will be held as a collaboration. There will be a Steering Committee led directly by Mr. Bambang Soesatyo, the Chair of IMI, then an Organizing Committee led by Mr. Sahroni, and the Operational Implementation will be carried out by Jakpro," said Governor Anies.
With this collaboration scheme, Governor Anies hopes that the Formula E event will run successfully and smoothly. Moreover, IMI has experience in organizing racing events, be it two-wheeled, four-wheeled, or others.
"So this is an activity where we collaborate together and under the direction prepared by Mr. Bambang and the entire ranks of IMI, then in collaboration with Formula E Operation (FEO). We believe that the implementation as a collaboration, God willing, will go well," explained Governor Anies.

Meanwhile, IMI Chairman Bambang Soesatyo explained that the Formula E event was the second major event handled by IMI. Previously, IMI also handled the WBSK or Superbike event in Mandalika recently. Bambang hopes that the Formula E event next year will also drive the national economy.
“We have just completed the first stage of the WBSK international event in Mandalika which was a success and was seen by 1.5 billion world eyes through the broadcast of the event. And next year we will have two big events too
First, Formula E and MotoGP, both of which have attracted worldwide attention. This means that Indonesia is very ready for recovery with the two major international activities that we are doing, which are able to invite many tourists and encourage the acceleration of our economic recovery,” he said.
Regarding the location of the circuit and the implementation of Formula E, it will be determined jointly by FEO, IMI, and Jakpro. Furthermore, the results of the determination of the location will be reported to President Joko Widodo.
