Despite High Vaccination Rates, Anies Says Many Places In Jakarta Have Slack Prokes

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the coverage of COVID-19 vaccination in the capital city was already high. However, Anies highlighted the lax health protocols in several public places in line with the implementation of PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) Level 1.

"The percentage of people who have been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus is already high. The second is that they have been vaccinated with a high percentage of vaccination. The challenge is that many places are starting to sag", said Anies at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, November 25.

Anies explained that currently, the level of technology utilization in implementing health protocols is already high. The government implements citizen mobility rules using a scan of the PeduliLindungi and JAKI applications (in Jakarta) to enter and exit every public place.

Unfortunately, many managers do not comply. Anies said that the managers of places such as malls and shopping centers did not implement a thorough visitor scan because they felt the COVID-19 situation was under control.

"It feels safe, so when you enter the mall, you just enter. Later a group of five people, three scanned, two not. This is how practice in the field starts to slack like this. There are also places where when the application doesn't run, then the system goes down. Yes No, everyone has to check the system", Anies explained.

Therefore, Anies appealed to all parties managing public places and facilities to tighten the application of health protocols such as using PeduliLindungi and participating in vaccination.

"His appeal is that all facilities are re-disciplined. If someone enters, they must scan it, if someone comes out they must also scan. So, people feel safe coming to a place because they know that everything has been detected using the existing PeduliLindungi system", explained Anies.

"For those who haven't been vaccinated, finish it immediately. Who hasn't been vaccinated, there are many parents and children. For adults, check whether there are parents, uncles, grandfathers who haven't had the vaccine", he added.
