Defeating Compatriots In The First Round Of Indonesia Open 2021, Bagas/Fikri: We Play More Patiently
JAKARTA - A one-country duel is present in the first round of the Indonesia Open 2021 in the men's doubles sector. Two representatives of Indonesia Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi duel for tickets to the advanced round.
Facing their compatriots in the early rounds, Bagas/Fikri managed to secure a victory to advance to the next round. Dealing with fellow national team members is not easy, but Bagas/Fikri can get through it in two smooth games.
For this victory, Bagas/Fikri admitted that patience is their main key to look stunning. Moreover, both of them have pocketed the pattern of their opponent's game.
"Earlier (we) just played more patiently. They are also no different today than the previous meeting. If at the first meeting we were in a hurry, so many died alone," said Fikri, quoted from information received by VOI.
In the meeting that took place at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, Bagus/Fikri managed to win quickly. Within 36 minutes they succeeded in overthrowing Sabar/Reza with a score of 21-18, 22-20.
With a win, Fikri/Bagas' revans paid off after they were defeated by Sabar/Reza in the first meeting at the Spain Masters 2021.

Fikri also admitted that he did not experience any technical problems against Reza/Sabar because he already knew each of the weaknesses and strengths of each.
However, when compared to last week's Indonesia Masters 2021, Fikri/Bagas admitted that the field conditions this time were not as comfortable as before so it had little effect on their game.
"The game was not good, not as good as before. The condition of the room was a bit stuffy," said Fikri.
