U-18 National Team Wins Trial In Turkey, Shin Tae-yong Immediately Chooses Important Player Names

JAKARTA - Indonesia U-18 national team coach, Shin Tae-yong has pocketed a number of names of players who are considered to have important roles in the team. He got this after Garuda Muda successfully bagged a victory in the test match in Turkey.

Sunday, November 21, 2021, the U-18 national team underwent a test match against the Antalyaspor U-18 junior team. In the match which was held at the Limak Football Complex, Antalya, Turkey, the U-18 national team succeeded in overthrowing the host with a final score of 3-1.

From that match, Shin Tae-yong could see the performance of each player. He later marked these players as important assets for Garuda Muda, but he chose to keep their names a secret.

"Honestly for the U-18s, there are some very important players (who have good performances). But they cannot be named because they cannot be a motivation for the players," said Shin Tae-yong in a written statement received by VOI, Monday.

Currently, the U-18 national team is in Turkey to undergo a training camp (TC). Not only that, but Garuda Muda also underwent several trials with a number of Turkish clubs.

The agenda was carried out by the U-18 national team as a serious preparation to perform optimally in the upcoming 2023 U-20 World Cup, where Indonesia was appointed to host.

While in Turkey, Shin Tae-yong admitted that the young players were training seriously. They even fought hard while undergoing trials to reap sweet results.

“Indeed, the players just started TC a few days ago, so it didn't take long, and they also practice three times a day. But they worked really hard in the game and I want to thank the players."
