Police Officers Hit And Run Over By Drug Dealers In Raids In Cirebon

JAKARTA - A member of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit with the initials JM was seriously injured after being hit and run over by a drug dealer in the Cirebon area, West Java. The incident occurred in the middle of a raid.

The perpetrator managed to escape the ambush. Meanwhile, 35 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were confiscated by the police. Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Grand Commissioner Pol. Hengki Haryadi confirmed that there were members of the Central Jakarta Police who were victims in the raid on drug dealers.

"The officer with the rank of 1st Insp. was hit and run over by a drug dealer when he was arrested in the Cirebon area," said Grand Commissioner Pol Hengki to VOI, Sunday, November 21.

Hengki explained that the suspect, who is suspected of being a drug dealer, is still being chased. However, evidence of the type of methamphetamine weighing 35 kilograms was recovered.

The Head of Drugs at the Central Jakarta Police, Commissioner of Police Indrawienny Panjiyoga explained that the incident began when the police were about to arrest the suspect in a rest area in the Cirebon area.

"When we wanted to arrest him at the rest area, the suspect fled using a car. Our members were hit by the suspect," he said.

1st Insp. JM, who was the victim of the arrest, suffered a broken leg in leg. Now he has got a nurse at a hospital in Jakarta.

Panji said his party was still pursuing two suspects suspected of being drug dealers who supply drugs to Jakarta.
