"The land mafia is still rampant. This is partly because of their extensive network, ranging from PPAT elements, law enforcers, courts to the ATR/BPN Ministry. If PPAT is involved and proven, they will immediately be fired and have their licenses removed, as well as employees The Ministry of ATR/BPN because actually, their job is to be ordered by the state to protect the public," he said in a written statement, quoted on Sunday, November 21.

To overcome the land mafia, said Sofyan, one of the things to do is to improve the system through digitization at the Ministry of ATR/BPN in order to close the loophole for fraud committed by the land mafia.

"We continue to try to improve the system, starting from electronic certificates, the Touch Tanahku application, which can be downloaded by the public to check their land, as well as introducing online queues through the Loketku feature so that people can take care of themselves and schedule arrivals at the Land Office," he explained.

In fighting the land mafia, Sofyan also works closely with law enforcement officials, the Judicial Commission, the Supreme Court, and other government agencies. With the hope that the evil practices carried out by the land mafia will decrease and disappear even though it takes time.

In addition, Sofyan reminded the public to be careful entrusting land certificates or other important documents and was expected to use a credible institution. Including, people who want to buy land must also be careful.

"Don't buy land carelessly because if the land is problematic, the ownership can be canceled and legally processed," he said.
