President Jokowi Tests Mandalika Circuit, Netizens Even Quip Formula E, Want To Book My Tickets
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had a chance to try out the Mandalika Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.
A video clip of Jokowi on the circuit, wearing a racing suit complete with a helmet and gloves, then went viral on social media.
The moment Jokowi paved the circuit was also uploaded on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube page. On his Twitter account, for example, a clip of Jokowi's video was shared by the @DewiLie**** account on Friday, November 11. Until this news was revealed, the video has been watched by more than 3,000 netizens.
Social media activist Ferdinand Hutahaean also responded to the 44-second video clip. In his comments, Ferdinand wrote, "Qadal emotion look at this", with a laughing emoticon at @FerdinandHaean3.
The upload of the @DewiLie**** account was flooded with comments by residents on the application with the bluebird symbol. Some praise Jokowi, others compare the big celebration in Mandalika with the electric Formula E race which is still unclear.
Even though it has been included in the Formula E calendar on June 4, 2022, DKI Jakarta has yet to build its circuit.
