The BLBI Task Force Confiscates IDR 600 Billion Of Tommy Suharto's Assets In Karawang
JAKARTA - The Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Task Force (BLBI) will confiscate assets belonging to PT Timor Putra Nasional which belongs to the son of the 2nd President Soeharto, Hutomo Mandala Putra alias Tommy Suharto.
Tommy's assets to be confiscated are 124 hectares of land located in the Mandala Putra Industrial Estate, Karawang, West Java. The land is valued at IDR 600 billion.
"Today the BLBI Task Force confiscated about 120 hectares of land in Karawang along with all industrial assets in it," Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD told reporters, Friday, November 5.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the confiscation was legal because his party had legal documents. Mahfud said this industrial area was previously guaranteed by Tommy Suharto when he applied for financial assistance to the state.
"This is an industrial area that used to be guaranteed by Tommy Suharto to the state. We have legal documents to do that," said the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK).

As previously reported, the BLBI Task Force has succeeded in handing over money to the state treasury of up to IDR 2.4 billion and USD 7.6 million.
Not only that, but this team has also succeeded in blocking 339 collateral assets and blocking the shares of 24 companies belonging to BLBI obligors and debtors.
Next, there is also an extension of rights for 543 certificates spread across 19 provinces and controls 97 plots of land spread across Jakarta, Medan, Pekanbaru, Medan, Tangerang, and Bogor with an area of 5.320.148.97 square meters.
