Dybala: Platini's Goal Celebration And Warning For Chelsea
JAKARTA - Paulo Dybala was named MVP (Most Valuable Player) after Juventus beat Zenit St Petersburg 4-2 in Group H of the Champions League which took place at Allianz Stadium, Tuesday night. He celebrated it in a unique way as a memorial to Chelsea.
Dybala scored two goals for Juventus, while the other two goals were scored by Federico Chiesa and Alvaro Morata each. The visitors scored through an own goal by Leonardo Bonucci and Sardar Azmoun.
This result ensured Juventus won Group H and had the right to advance to the round of 16 after collecting 12 points. Meanwhile, Zenit remains in third position with 3 points.
Juventus will face Chelsea in their next match at Stamford Bridge on November 23. To ensure as group winners, the Old Lady needs four more points.
"We played as a great team and we achieved the result. We have achieved the first target, now we want to go to London and get first place," Dybala told SportMediaset cited from Football Italia, Wednesday.
With two goals in last night's match, the Argentine striker overtook Michel Platini and John Charles in the Black and White shirt. To pay homage to the French legend, Dybala imitated Platini's celebration after scoring his first goal.
"Platini is an idol for me and for football, I wish him this match," explained the Argentine striker.
"Actually I wanted to celebrate like this when I played against Inter, but I didn't score in that game," he added.
Dybala has scored six goals and provided four assists in ten appearances across all competitions so far this season. His contract in Turin is due to expire at the end of the season, but he is expected to sign a new one in the coming weeks.
