Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Agrees To Receive Salary In Bitcoin
JAKARTA – Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for US soccer club Green Bay Packers, has said he will take part of his National Football League salary in Bitcoin.
In a video posted to his Twitter account on November 1, Rodgers—dressed as the fictional character John Wick for the Halloween event—says he will partner with Cash App to take part of his salary in Bitcoin (BTC).
The NFL reported in July that Rodgers would earn a base salary of $1.1 million in addition to a $14.5 million signing bonus and a $6.8 million list bonus starting in March, with a total of about 22.3 million US dollars (IDR 327 billion).

According to data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro, Rodgers' total salary will be worth around 368.84 BTC for US$60,636 at the time of publication. Although the crypto asset hit an all-time high of close to $67,000 on October 20, it fell below $60,000 more than once last week and mostly moved between $60,000 and $63,000.
Rodgers joins other professional sports players embracing crypto as the space appears to become more mainstream.
Last week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said he would compensate fans for holding his 600th career touchdown ball with 1 BTC along with some signed sports memorabilia.
