Security Of The World Water Forum 2024 Summit Is Getting Tight, The National Police Will Use 3 Helicopters And 2 Ships

JAKARTA - Maximum security is applied in the activities of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) Summit in Bali. Three helicopters and two ships were deployed to minimize crowds.

"So there are our ships and they are backed up by the Korpolairud Barhakam Polri. There are 2 ships involved in activities including helicopters, there are 3 units backed up in order to secure the 10th World Water Forum activities in Bali," said the Director of Polairud Polda Bali Kombes Ponadi, Saturday, May 18.

The two ships deployed will comb vulnerable points such as under toll roads, beaches, and waters in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Then, the ship will patrol the ports of crossings such as Gilimanuk, Padangbai and others.

"In order to secure this international event, the Bali Police Ditpolairud also coordinates with the TNI and Basarnas," he said.

"Those are crossing points to anticipate the entry of people from outside Bali, anticipate criminal actors, we collaborate, we coordinate with local regional units," continued Ponadi.

For helicopters, said Ponadi, they will be placed near the World Water Forum. The aerial vehicle is only used during an emergency situation.

For example, if a delegation who needs medical treatment can use a helicopter to go to a nearby hospital.

"We are connected to the post, which at any time the Command Post in contact with members in the field can report directly in the field," said Ponadi.

The 10th World Water Forum will be held in Bali from 18 to 25 May 2024. The activity will discuss four things, namely water, clean water and sanitation conservation, food and energy security, and mitigation of natural disasters.
