Kominfo Strengthens Cooperation with China in Implementing AI Technology

JAKARTA - The Government of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), has once again strengthened its cooperation with China in the research sector, technology development, and increasing digital resource skills.

In a Bilateral Meeting with the Executive Vice President and Principal Executive Secretary of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) He Junke on Wednesday, November 22, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said that the aim of this cooperation was to face the challenges of utilizing technology.

As one of Indonesia's largest trading partners in 2022, the Minister of Communication and Information also encourages cooperation with China in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Not only that, Budi hopes that the two countries can collaborate in the fields of digital finance, digital health, digital government, and smart city development technology.

"I encourage collaboration between business people, academics, and the community to support the Movement towards 100 Smart Cities in Indonesia. We are open to ideas and potential for future cooperation," said Budi, quoted on the official Kominfo website.

At the event, there were representatives from the China Communication Institute, ZTE Indonesia, the Indonesian Telematics Society, and Telkom University.
