JAKARTA In 2020, TikTok will launch a monetization program through a profit-sharing strategy with the name Creator Fund. Although not long ago launched, TikTok plans to stop this funding program.

To Engadget, TikTok said that the program would be discontinued on December 16. Once discontinued, creators in the United States, Britain, France and Germany will no longer be able to use this program.

All creators registered with Creator Fund are advised to switch to the Creativity Program that TikTok is developing. According to TikTok, this program provides better features for creators.

By using the Creativity Program, creators can make videos with a long duration of up to 30 minutes. This program is considered more profitable for creators because they can be paid up to 20 times the amount generated at the Creator Fund.

"We are developing a Creativity Program based on learning and input from Creator Fund and we will continue to listen and learn from our community as we explore new features," TikTok said.

Although TikTok did not specify the reasons for the termination of this program, it makes a lot of sense if the reason is related to the complaints of creators regarding very few incomes at the Creator Fund.

One of the creators who complained about this problem was streamerHank Green. He said that broadcasts on TikTok only generate 2.5 cents per 1,000 views. This income is smaller than monetization on YouTube.

With better income claims, the Creativity Program is expected to be able to support creators and streamers. Unfortunately, this program has only been available in beta since its launch in February.

Users who can join the Creativity Program must pass the age of 18 and have at least 10,000 followers with a minimum of 10,000 views in the last 30 days.
