Kominfo Continues To Create Safe Digital Space Ahead Of The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), the Ministry of Communication and Information continue to strive to create a secure and comfortable digital space through content modernization and termination of access to hoax content.

With the slogan "Pemilu Damai 2024", Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi hopes to increase community participation, and prevent hoaxes on social media, which can cause chaos of information in the form of misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation.

"At Kominfo, we have agreed that there are three big problems that are of concern to us (during the election), the first is hoaxes, the second is slander, and the third is hate speech or hate speech," he said in the Army Territorial Center (Pusterad) Sarasehan on Monday, October 23 citing his official broadcast.

For this reason, Budi added, Kominfo has cyber patrols that monitor content containing hate speech, slander, and hoaxes on the internet for further termination of access.

Not to forget, the Minister of Communication and Information Budi also invited all elements of society to continue to maintain a healthy digital space, by avoiding narratives that divide society.

The content moderation carried out by Kominfo is through the clarification of facts (hoax dusting) on fake news, and termination of access or take down sites and content that contain hoaxes together with digital platforms.

The Minister of Communication and Information also ensured that the government took firm action against these content to prevent divisions in society.
