NASA Delays Psyche Launch Until October 12

JAKARTA - The United States (NASA) Aeronautics and Space Agency is reportedly delaying Psyche's mission, a trip to an asteroid orbiting the sun. This mission will be postponed for a week.

Reporting fromSpacenews,NASA postponed this mission to improve the propeller configuration on the Falcon Heavy rocket. Thus, the rocket will be launched on October 12.

It was not without reason that NASA postponed this mission. On September 28, NASA said that gas boosters were detected as operating at warmer temperatures than expected.

Therefore, NASA decided to postpone the launch. This delay time will be used by engineers to verify the parameters of the nitrogen cold gas driver to direct the aircraft.

In its official release, NASA stated that the temperature limit on the driver is very important. This temperature limit allows aircraft units to be healthy in the long term.

"It is very important for us to do this right. This driver is not the main propulsion system, but it is important, especially as soon as launch," said NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory Director, Laurie Leshin.

Even though the launch is late from the predetermined schedule, this aircraft still has the opportunity to fly into the track to the main area of the asteroid Psyche.

Upon arrival at the asteroid, the launched aircraft will settle for two years in orbit to study the asteroid. Some of the things to learn are the structure and composition of the asteroid.
