Palo Alto Networks: 80 Percent Cyber Attack Target Cloud Services

JAKARTA - The rapid level of digital transformation has resulted in the implementation of network infrastructure to increase sharply, and participate in encouraging the complexity of cybersecurity environments.

Global cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks through Unit 42 Attack Surface Threat Report 2023 revealed that cybercriminals exploited a number of new vulnerabilities within hours of being announced to the public.

It was also found that a number of organizations also found it difficult to dispel potential attacks that arise at the right speed and scale, in order to combat the automation of threat actors.

Another important finding from this report states that the cloud is an easy target of surface attacks.

This report found that most of the security threat risks found in cloud services reached 80 percent, far from the threats that occur in the on-premise scope (only 19 percent).

On the other hand, Palo Alto also found facts where cloud-based IT infrastructure always continues to grow, experiencing a change rate of more than 20 percent. in each industry, every month.

For most organizations, there are more than 45 percent of cloud-based high-risk threats every month, which

is due to continuous changes to the new online cloud-based services and/or changes to the old service model.

What's more, there is more than 75 percent of exposure to threats to software development infrastructure that can be accessed by the public in the cloud.
