YOGYAKARTA Starlink, a satellite-based internet service provider owned by Elon Musk, reportedly shows interest in opening a business in Indonesia. So, when will Starlink be available in Indonesia?

Previously, the Director General of Post and Information (Dirjen PPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Wayan Toni Supriyanto, said that Starlink representatives had visited the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to ask about how to open a telecommunications service business license in Indonesia.

Until now, there is no exact date when Starlink will enter the Indonesian market to provide equal internet access from Sabang City in Aceh to Muara Torasi in Merauke Regency, Papua which borders Papua New Guinea.

Users who wish to take advantage of Starlink internet services for recreational cars are required to pay 135 US dollars per month with equipment costs of 599 US dollars paid upfront.

As for business services, Starlink charges a subscription fee of 500 US dollars per month at a cost of one-time equipment of 2,500 US dollars.
