Supporting STC 2023 In Papua, Kominfo Will Support Digital Infrastructure Provision

JAKARTA - Sail Teluk Cenderawasih (STC) 2023 will soon take place in November. To support this event, the Ministry of Communication and Information will prepare four types of support.

According to what Kominfo Deputy Minister Nezar Patria said, the four supports were to prepare information dissemination, provide digital infrastructure, monitor frequency spectra, and monitor activities in the digital space to prevent the spread of hoaxes and disinformation.

"In accordance with President Joko Widodo's instructions, what we can do is amplify with the devices we already have. Then for technical support, we use all the devices owned by Kominfo to concentrate on the success of the Sail Teluk Cendrawasih event," said the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information in a statement on the official website of Kominfo.

Nezar said the 2023 STC will be a stage for Papua to show the spirit of unity and togetherness in regional development through collaboration between local governments, central governments, SOEs, the private sector to the community.

Not only that, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information also mentioned that Sail Teluk Cenderawasih will also raise local MSME products, as well as Papuan customs and culture.

In supporting the successful implementation of the STC which will take place from 1-7 November 2023, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics is collaborating with cellular telecommunications service provider partners in providing digital infrastructure in the form of telecommunications networks.

In addition, monitoring and securing the use of radio frequency spectra around the event location will also be carried out. According to Deputy Minister Nezar Patria, this is done in order to minimize potential frequency disruptions, especially flights.

"We will carry out frequency monitoring, technical monitoring to prevent frequency spectrum disruptions that could disrupt flights around the location of the STC peak event," he explained.
