JAKARTA - Apple is claimed to be planning to bring its biometric authentication system Face ID into the ranks of the MacBook Pro and iMac.

The report was seen in a newly released patent with the title "Light Recognition Mode to Determine Computing Device Users". There, Apple detailed the reasons for using this technology.

The company stated, Face ID will give users more options in how to unlock their devices.

Given the use of passwords and pins, while useful, this technology can still be easily exploited if unauthorized users gain access to both.

And, Face ID solves the problem by using the user's own face to unlock the device, which means the MacBook or iMac will not be easily broken into by bad actors.

Furthermore, Apple said users also tend to perform complicated tasks that involve sensitive and vulnerable information.

As Face ID technology is much more personal and theoretically more effective than other device lockdowns, the method protects users' personal data better from unauthorized access.

Patents also state that Face ID sensors will be located in partitions, which can be in the form of notiks, circles, ellipticals, polygonal forms, curves, or the like.

Given that MacBook and iMac are now known for their notch, most likely to be put there, which will help maintain a thin and compact profile on the device.

It is not certain whether the patent will come true. However, given the fact that the track Face ID is following is now the same as Touch ID which first appeared for the iPhone, then migrated to the iPad, and then to the MacBook.
