Kominfo And Attorney General Agree To Accelerate Construction Of 4G BTS Project

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi in his meeting with Attorney General ST. Burhanuddin said that the 4G BTS Provision project and digital infrastructure will continue.

"You have to keep going, the 4G BTS Project must be realized because this concerns the fate of the people," he said after a meeting at the Attorney General's Main Building, citing the official Kominfo broadcast.

The Minister of Communication and Information also emphasized that the meeting discussed coordination and assistance from the Attorney General's Office to accelerate the construction of 4G BTS, including legal issues.

"Later on, the Attorney General's Office, especially Jamdatun, the Junior Attorney for Civil and State Administration will assist, review existing development contracts, and help review which ones can be continued," he said.

The Minister of Communication and Information stated that the legal matter was handled by the Attorney General's Office, while technical matters were handled by the Ministry of Communication and Information. According to him, the implementation of development will depend on the area and technical specifications.

On the other hand, Attorney General Burhanuddin expressed his support so that the 4G BTS Project could continue and be completed on time. This is because the construction of 4G BTS allows people in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) areas to gain access to the same digital information as other regions.

"In the future, we will be very supportive so that this project can be completed on time, on quality, and on benefits because it is intended by the wider community, especially in the 3T area," he said.

The Attorney General emphasized that the implementation of the acceleration of the construction of 4G BTS which had previously stalled would not interfere with the ongoing legal process.

Not to forget, the Attorney General also suggested the establishment of an Assistance Team for the Acceleration of Audit, Contract, Auction, and Implementation, to President Jokowi. "While waiting for the team to be formed by the President, which can later be used as a reference or input by the 'Digital Ecosystem Acceleration Task Force'," he concluded.
