JAKARTA - Due to the many requests, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov finally announced that he would launch a feature that already exists on any social media, namely the Stories feature to its platform starting July 2023.

"Over the years, our users have asked us to implement Stories on Telegram. Initially, we opposed this because Stories are everywhere. However, Telegram will not be Telegram if we don't listen to our users and don't innovate on existing formats," Durov said on his Telegram channel.

Based on the demonstrations shared, the way Telegram Stories work is the same as Stories on other platforms, you can create stories, reply and also react.

Privacy: Here, you will be able to determine who can see your every story like Everyone, just my contacts (with exceptions), selected contacts, or Close Friends lists.

Compact Ul: These Stories will later be placed at the top of your chat list, making it easy to access.

Flexibility: Like on whatsapp, you'll easily hide Stories posted by any contacts, by moving them to the Hidden list in your Contacts section.

Caption: In addition to utilizing photo and video editing tools, you can also provide text to your story, to add more contexts or links and flag other people.

Double Camera Support: What's interesting about Telegram Stories is that you can add an option to post photos and videos taken by the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Ephemerality option: In addition, what distinguishes Telegram Stories from Stories on other social media is that you can choose when the story will expire, either in 6, 12, 24, or - 48 hours or even show the story permanently on your profile page.

Currently, the Stories feature is still in its final testing phase and will be available in early July.
