The Indonesian national team is preparing for the match against the Philippines in the 2026 World Cup Qualification (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will return to compete in the second matchday of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against the Philippines. With the status of the visitors, the Garuda Squad will visit the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 18.00 WIB.

This match is a tough test for the Red-White Team which lost a landslide on the first matchday. Facing Iraq at the Basra International Stadium, Shin Tae-yong's team lost 1-5 to the house.

"The goalkeeper may need a change. Nadeo (Argawinata) played poorly yesterday with five goals conceded. However, maybe coach Shin Tae-yong can try to play Ernando Ari," he said about the opportunity to rotate players in the Indonesian national team.

On the same occasion, Bung Ropan, as he is familiarly called, said that there was nothing wrong with rotating in other lines. Considering that against Iraq, the Indonesian national team often conceded due to defense negligence, both individuals and groups.

"There is no need to win by a landslide. Winning by 2-1 or 1-0, whatever is important, three points. This point must be picked up. Instead of us playing a draw there, it's better for us to win narrowly and three points."

"This will be much better for us before concentrating on fighting Vietnam next year," he said.
