2023 U-17 World Cup: Uzbekistan Beat Canada 3-0

JAKARTA The Uzbekistan national team managed to secure their first three points in the Group B phase of the 2023 U-17 World Cup against Canada in the second match.

Jamoliddin Rakhmatullaev's squad is not half-hearted to stop their opponents with a landslide score of 3-0 at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, Monday, November 13, 2023.

Uzbekistan took the lead against them when the game had been running for 22 minutes. The lead was the result of suicide from Canadian defender Richard Chukwu.

Just two minutes later, Uzbekistan immediately doubled the advantage through Amirbek Saidov. He maximized the bait from Ollobergan Karimov.

Saidov then scored his second goal in a second half normal time with nine minutes remaining. This time he used a pass from Muhammad Yusuf Sobirov.

This result opens up the opportunity for Uzbekistan to qualify for the knockout stages. They now collect three points from two matches and sit in third place in the standings.

Two positions ahead of them were occupied by Mali in second place with three points and Spain occupies the top spot with a maximum collection of points from two matches.

On the last matchday, Uzbekistan will face Spain, while Mali will face Canada. The two matches will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
