3 Lacks Of Kevin/Rahmat Causes Eliminated At The Korea Masters 2023

JAKARTA - Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rahmat Hidayat revealed the three shortcomings they had which caused them to be eliminated at the Korea Masters 2023.

Kevin/Rahmat failed to reach the quarter-finals after losing rubber games 21-14, 21-23, and 16-21 against third-seeded Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan at Gwangju Women's University Stadium, Thursday, November 9, 2023.

"We at the critical point are not looking for reason, we are not varied, [and] the game is too monotonous. This is a lesson for us to come forward," Kevin said in a statement received.

After securing the first game, Kevin/Rahmat actually took the lead over the opponent throughout the second game. Unfortunately, in the final point they were chased by the opponent and then lost.

Next in the third game Kevin/Rahmat were immediately left behind from the start. They didn't even get the moment to identify the score at all.

"It's a shame that in the second game, we can't finish it. We still have a lot to improve if we want to at least compete in the top 10. We will try again in the next tournament," Kevin said.

Rahmat, on the other hand, assessed that in the third game their opponents began to read the game he and his colleagues. However, they were late in changing strategies.

"I have to be bolder and keep pressing on the back ball, not too much placing. In the future I also have to increase my power," he said.

Kevin/Rahmat are one of four Indonesian representatives who were eliminated in the second round of this Super 300 BWF level event. The three representatives whose trips stopped were the men's singles Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, the women's singles Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, and the mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah.

The failure of the four representatives made Indonesia only have one representative in the quarter-finals. The only remaining representative is the women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo.
