PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir and Mayor Gibran Rakabuming attended the FIFA World Cup U-17 2023 Trophy Experience parade in Solo.

SOLO - Solo is the closing of the FIFA World Cup U-17 2023 Trophy Experience. This trophy tour in Solo is a sign that Indonesia is ready to be in the world's spotlight by holding the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup. PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir accompanied by Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that Solo would become the history of the U-17 Duni Cup.

Sunday, November 5, at 06.30 WIB, the trophy parade began with the Sriwedari Stadium. The historic stadium was the venue for the first PON in 1948.

The FIFA World Cup U-17 2023 Trophy Parade with PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir and Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka were warmly welcomed by thousands of Solo residents who crowded the road from Sriwedari Stadium to the Mangkunegaran Temple area.

Traditional nuances were indeed thick in the parade. The trophy is paraded with traditional dances and soldiers of Pura Mangkunegaran. Watching the enthusiasm of the people of Solo to welcome Trophy Experience, Erick Thohir expressed his belief that this world talent football party will run smoothly and successfully.

"If I witness the interest of Solo City and residents under the direction of Mayor Mas Gibran, the U-17 World Cup event as a whole will run smoothly and successfully. In addition, the readiness of stadiums, infrastructure, and city governments to welcome the World Cup," said Erick.

"With the remaining time, let's welcome the world football party which will be history for Indonesia. And, Solo is part of that history," said Erick who is also the Minister of SOEs.

Trophy Experience started from the giant ball parade from Sriwedari and walked to Pasar Antik Triwindu to Pura Mangkunegaran (Gapura Ngarsopuro).

Apart from Erick and Gibran, the procession was attended by soldiers of Pura Mangkunegaran, Mangkunegaran dancers, drum bands, Persis Solo club stars.

"I represent Solo residents who are ready to make the U-17 World Cup a success in 2023. Not only during the preliminary round, but also until the semifinals and finals which will take place at Manahan Stadium, Solo," said Gibran.

The mayor thanked Erick Thohir for his honor in making Solo one of the hosts of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Gibran said he would try his best to keep the event safe.

"We will not waste the trust given by Mr. Erick as the chairman of PSSI and the central government to Solo, which will be a concern for the world football scene," he said.

"We will try our best so that this event runs smoothly, safely, and the Indonesian national team achieves maximum achievements," said Gibran again.

Kanjeng Gusti Mangkoenegara X and Acting Governor of Central Java, Nana Sudjana, who welcomed the arrival of the parade at Gapura Ngapuro, were also enthusiastic about the arrival of the trophy in Solo. According to him, this indicates that soon the football party, which will be attended by 24 teams, is ready to roll.

"It is a matter of pride because the city of Solo and all citizens have the honor of hosting the world football championship. This will continue to be remembered so that we are ready to give our best to entertain guests and the teams that come," said Kanjeng Gusti Mangkoenegara X.

The same thing was expressed by Nana Sudjana. The Acting Governor of Central Java stated that he was ready to provide maximum support for Solo.

Thus, this city is one of the best hosts in providing security and comfort services for spectators as well as teams, officials, and committees.

"Central Java is ready to be an important part of the success of the U-17 World Cup. We have made every effort to support all activities related to the World Cup in Solo to run smoothly. Solo's success has also become a success in Central Java," said Nana Sudjana.

As in the previous three cities, Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, many public entertainment events at the FIFA World Cup U-17 2023 Trophy Experience event in Solo.

The public can not only look closer, but also take pictures with the U-17 World Cup trophy exhibited in front of the Kavallerie-Artillerie Building, Mangkunegaran Temple,.

Solo will stage the preliminary competition for Group B of the 2023 U-17 World Cup consisting of Spain, Canada, Uzbekistan and Mali. Manahan Stadium is also the arena for the round of 16 matches, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
