Denmark Open 2023 Results: Anthony Ginting Escapes First Round Thanks To Focus, Rehan/Lisa Runs Aground

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles, Anthony Ginting, managed to qualify from the first round of the Denmark Open 2023. However, the opposite result was obtained by mixed doubles, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumadewi.

Ginting won two straight games 21-15 and 21-15 over French representative Christo Popov in the first round of the Denmark Open which took place at Jsyke Bank Arena, Odense, Tuesday 17 October afternoon WIB

The victory in the first round of the Denmark Open is also a moment of reply for Ginting. Because previously, Popov had defeated Ginting in the last 32 at the Indonesia Open 2021.

Despite winning, Ginting admitted that there is still a game that needs to be improved because several moments of losing points occur.

However, thanks to a focused game and a mature pattern of play, it reaped positive results in the advanced round.

"But there is still me losing consecutive points, this must be minimized. Earlier, try not to think too much and make panic," Ginting said in an official statement quoted from PBSI.

"The focus remains calm and does not change the pattern of the game. Because the evaluation of the previous match when such an incident affected the game so it was more rushed," explained Ginting.

Meanwhile, Rehan Naufal/Lisa Ayu, who opened Indonesia's representatives in the first round of the Denmark Open 2023, actually reaped minor results. Rehan/Lisa lost 17-21, 21-14 and 16-21 against South Korean representatives, Kim Won Ho/Jeong Na Eun.
