Marco Bezzecki Has Done All His Capabilities At The Mandalika Circuit

JAKARTA - Marco Bezzecki's performance at the Indonesian MotoGP race at the Mandalika Circuit, last weekend, deserves thumbs up. The achievement of finishing in the top five during the main race and podium when the sprint race was arguably an extraordinary result.

The reason is, Bezzecki raced in pain because he had not fully recovered from injury. In fact, the Italian racer himself did not expect to get such good results.

"I'm very happy with this weekend, and I didn't expect yesterday to be on the podium (Sprint) and P5 (on the grand prix)," said Bezzecchi.

"My boat hurts, so does muscle and especially neck, but I'm trying to give everything I have (to finish the race)," he continued, as quoted by Antara.

Actually, Bezzecchi is in doubt able to appear at the Mandalika Circuit because he has just undergone surgery. However, he was desperate to continue flying to Indonesia and hoped to keep racing.

Finally, the medical team gave the green light to the driver of Valentino Rossi's team. Bezzecchi started the race from the ninth grid.

However, it didn't make him give up immediately. The pain in his bones did make it difficult, but it didn't stop the Italian racer from competing in front.

Able to implement consistent speed, he continues to pursue four of his competitors ahead, namely Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo), Maverick Vinales (Aprilia Racing), Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing).

Apart from being confident in yourself, Bezzecchi said support from his team also had an important role.

"Every round, I see people from my team encouraging me. Even before starting (the ball), I asked for all their positive energy and they were extraordinary," said the rider, nicknamed Bez by his fans.

With the points obtained in MotoGP Indonesia, Bezzecki established himself in third place in the standings with a total of 283 points. Furthermore, he will try to add points to the 16th MotoGP 2023 series which will take place at the Phillip Island Circuit, Australia, next week.

Bezzecchi said he wanted to take advantage of the remaining time to recover his physical condition even better.

"Now we have to stay calm, take advantage of the days between Indonesia and Australia to work with our physiotherapists," Bezzecchi said.

"The Phillip Island circuit lacks physical demand, no challenging braking part, and I will definitely be able to manage next weekend better," he concluded.
