Indonesian U-17 National Team Petik Many Lessons After Losing 0-3 To Eintracht Frankfurt U-19 In The Trial Match

JAKARTA - The U-17 Indonesian national team learned many lessons after undergoing a trial match against Eintracht Frankfurt U-19. Iqbal Gwijangge and his friends lost 0-3 in that match.

In a trial held on Sunday, October 8 local time, Eintracht Frankfurt appeared at full strength and seeded possession in the early minutes of the match.

However, Indonesia has also been able to dismantle the opponent's defense several times through the movement of players in the wing sector. Several counter-attacks were launched by the Frankfurt junior team until in the 13th minute the Indonesian goal broke through Paul Wuensch's kick.

The advantage of the opposing team made the U-17 squad intensify attacks to catch up. The cooperation between Arkhan Kaka and Nabil in attack continues to be intensified but has not yet been able to penetrate the opponent's defense.

Instead of equalizing the score, the U-17 national team conceded again in the 20th minute through Anas Alaoui's kick. This result was not even able to be chased until the first half whistle sounded

After Eintracht winning 2-0 in the first half, the second half was again used by Bima Sakti's team to play more freely. At this moment several times the Garuda Muda squad was able to launch attacks.

It must be admitted that a strong opponent's defense made it difficult for Bima Sakti's team to create opportunities. The opponent's third goal was created through Marko Mladenovic, who had just entered the second half through a through ball and the 3-0 advantage failed to be chased by the U-17 national team until the end of the match.

Even though it ended without a win, the U-17 national team captain Iqbal Gwijangge said there were many important lessons that could be learned from the trial match. According to him, the 2023 U-17 World Cup will be much more challenging and his team will have to learn a lot to face strong teams.

"We learned a lot from this match. However, we made it a lesson because it was also good to fight a stronger team," he said, quoted from PSSI's official website, Monday, October 9.

"Because we need to know the weaknesses and advantages of the team so that we can continue to learn and learn to prepare for the World Cup later so that we can give maximum results for Indonesia," said the captain.
