Arsenal Breaks Curses At Everton Headquarters, Mikel Arteta: We Are Worth It

JAKARTA - Arsenal won over Everton in the fifth week of the English Premier League, Monday, September 18 in the morning WIB. The Gunners narrowly won 1-0 when they traveled to Goodison Park, Everton headquarters.

Arsenal's winning goal was scored by Leandro Trossard in the second half. Statistically, Arsenal clearly dominated the course of the match by recording 76 percent of possession and releasing 14 of them on target. This result made Arsenal rank fourth in the Premier League England standings with 13 points from five matches. While Everton is still stuck in 18th place with a score of one point. This victory also ended Arsenal's curse which never won at Everton's home in the last six years.

"Six years without a win here is a long time, so we have to take a few lessons, we have to be better. I am happy for this win, especially the way we won it, the way we played, how dominant we were and what we showed on the pitch. In this match Arsenal took the initiative to attack first and had tried through Fabio Vieira's shot which still had not met the target. Arsenal managed to break into Everton's goal through Gabriel Martinelli's kick, but the referee ruled out the goal because the Brazilian was in an offside position first. The Gunners continued to attack Everton's defense, one of which was through a long-range kick from Ben White, but was still secured by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. In the remaining time Arsenal continued to look for goals, but until halftime the score was 0-0 for both teams to survive.

Entering the second half, Arsenal took the initiative to attack first and had a chance through Martin Odegaard's shot which was still leading right into Pickford's arms. Everton turned to threaten Arsenal's defense through an effort made by Arnaut Danjuma, but his shot still bounced over Arsenal's crossbar. The Gunners were finally able to break into the net from Everton in the 69th minute after Bukayo Saka's pull was met by Leandro Trossard's kick so that the score changed to 1-0. Leading results first, Arsenal were increasingly eager to find additional goals, including through Odegaard and Vieira's efforts, but both kicks could still be blocked Everton's defense line. In the second half, Everton tried to equalize, one of which was through Dominic Calvert-Lewin's shot which was still sideways from Arsenal's goal. The 1-0 score for the visitors's win remained, as reported by Antara. "I think we have many other opportunities. The award for Everton that lasted very well. It's great to have another way to score goals, this gives you a different and more unpredictable resource," said Arteta.
