China Open 2023: Indonesia 17 Representatives, Men's Doubles Awaited By Opponents

JAKARTA The majority of Indonesian men's doubles immediately faced superior opponents in the first round of the 2023 China Open.

A total of five Indonesian men's doubles will appear in the Super 1000 level badminton event which will take place from September 5 to 10. Three of these numbers immediately face the seeds.

They are Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.

Bagas/Fikri faced the toughest challenges. This pair met the second seed Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty from India.

"Preparation to this match remains confident in yourself and also believes in my partner's abilities. Try your best, give your best first," Fikri said in an official written statement.

In the last meeting in the round of 16 of Thailand Open 2023, Bagas/Fikri succeeded in overthrowing the 2023 Asian champion with a rubber game 24-26, 21-11, 21-17.

It was the only win that Bagas/Fikri had from the couple in their four clashes. However, this victory has increased their confidence enough.

"I see that the opponent is much better now, so surely we have to learn again, analyze their game back through videos and of course ready desperately on the field," said Fikri.

Meanwhile, Hendra/Ahsan must work hard against the world champion and sixth seed Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae from Korea.

Meanwhile, Leo/Daniel have been waiting for the mainstay of the third seeded host, Liang Wei Pangk/Wang Chang.

Meanwhile, other male doubles representatives who will appear at this year's edition of the China Open are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan. They don't meet as superior as their colleagues above.

Fajar/Rian who occupies the first seed will immediately meet the finalists of the 2023 World Championship from Denmark, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.

"Kim/Anders are in the best form and we have to be more vigilant. Surely they are more confident. How will their games and tricks not be provoked in the field," said Fajar.

On paper, Fajar/Rian lost their winning-1-2 record. Fajar/Rian's only win over Kim/Anders took place in their last clash at the Indonesia Masters this year.

Meanwhile, Pramudya/Yeremia challenged the Japanese pair, Ayamo Endo/Yuta Takei. From the previous two meetings, Pram/Yere was recorded as always winning.
